The Climbolino®E Milling Robot – A Powerhouse for Sewer Rehabilitation
In sewer rehabilitation, rotating cleaning devices are particularly used when dealing with stubborn deposits that block a large portion of the pipe’s cross-section. Drilling, hammer drilling and milling tools are designed to match the internal diameter of the pipe being cleared. They move through the pipe using high-pressure nozzles, remove deposits across the entire cross-section at the front, and flush the debris out of the pipeline with the remaining water.
In addition to these cleaning devices, robots are increasingly being used in non-accessible areas. Equipped with a chassis, lighting and a camera, they can travel to the desired location and carry out targeted, remote-controlled work using drills, milling cutters and similar tools.
Introducing the Climbolino®E milling robot and its key advantages.
The Climbolino®E Milling Robot – A Powerhouse for House Connection Applications
The Climbolino®E milling robot is used in sewer rehabilitation, especially when pipe sections need to be reopened after short liner or long liner rehabilitation. It is also ideal for removing stubborn deposits inside pipes. It is designed exclusively for milling work within sewer pipes.
This milling robot is specifically intended for use in house connection areas and operates entirely electronically. It does not require large compressors or high-voltage power connections. Instead, it can simply be plugged into a standard household socket, and a conventional compressor is sufficient for operation—making it very easy to use.
The system consists of four components:
- Compressed air unit
- Hose case
- Control unit
- Milling robot
Powerful, Flexible and Compact
The Climbolino®E is equipped with a powerful electric milling spindle (up to 1 kW). It is highly flexible when navigating bends, making it ideal for house connection pipes. It can be used in a wide range of environments and is made of stainless steel.
It features high-tech milling tools and a 30-metre hose, which can be extended if required. The robot is suitable for pipes with internal diameters from 60 mm to 300 mm. Thanks to its flexible design, it can pass through almost all bends and curves—even 90° bends in DN70 pipes are no obstacle.
The robot can be easily retrieved from the pipe by pulling on both the supply line and a cable attached to its head.
Optimal Visibility and Control
The integrated camera offers adjustable viewing angles, and the speed is infinitely variable. The sophisticated control unit with an extra-large 12-inch LED display ensures excellent visibility and control—even in bright daylight.
A protective tablet cover is included to prevent screen damage, and documentation devices can be connected. The robot is controlled via joystick and simple button combinations on the tablet.
The robot is equipped with 12 dimmable LEDs to optimally illuminate the working area.
Compact Design and Easy Handling
Weighing 56 kg and measuring 31 × 51 × 105 cm, the robot features a compact and user-friendly design. It can be divided into several parts using quick-release fasteners, making it easy to transport and space-saving.
Versatile Milling Tools
- Diamond tools
- Wire and grinding tools
- Carbide-granulate milling tools
- High-speed steel tools
A concrete cutter for stone and concrete is included, along with tools for processing iron, wood and plastics.
Practical Features and Accessories
- Spare camera
- Replacement motor
- Maintenance and repair tools
These components can be replaced quickly on-site if needed. In case of more serious issues, a replacement unit can be provided by the manufacturer.
An integrated toolbox inside the robot ensures that all necessary tools are always available and safely stored.
Battery Operation and Efficiency
Two 56 V batteries provide independent power supply and up to two hours of operating time. One battery powers the control system (12 V), while the other powers the milling motor (54 V).
The robot is particularly energy-efficient, consuming up to 90% less energy than conventional milling robots.
Additional Highlights
- Low noise level (below 80 dB(A))
- Robust tyres and powerful motor (up to 14,000 rpm)
- 30 m hose (extendable), reinforced yet flexible
- Hygienic and compact hose storage
- Requires an oil-free compressor (approx. 180 litres per minute)
Conclusion
The Climbolino®E milling robot combines maximum performance with compact design. Its ease of use, flexibility, energy efficiency and wide range of applications make it an ideal solution for modern sewer rehabilitation— particularly in house connection areas.
