Test Case for Separator Systems by Aquametrics
For self-inspection and maintenance of light liquid separators and sludge traps in accordance with DIN 1999-100.
This interface layer measuring tube allows you to measure both sludge height and oil layer thickness in one step.
The interface layers are clearly visible and easy to read using the scale.
Operators of light liquid separators (coalescence or oil separators) are obligated to perform monthly self-inspections and semi-annual maintenance in accordance with DIN 1999-100. A key part of these inspections is the monthly measurement of the sludge and oil layers, with the results recorded in a wastewater operation logbook. The new patented measurement technology enables a fast and precise determination of the oil layer within seconds.
Scope of delivery
- Manhole cover lifter
- Sludge and oil layer thickness measuring device, 3 meters
- Operation logbook
- Carrying bag, blue color
Regular measurements are highly recommended not only for legal compliance, but also for optimizing operating costs of the separator. Examples include:
- Separator emptying based on actual need
- Prevention of wastewater backflow and associated issues
- Verification of billing during separator emptying
Increased Legal Compliance:
In some federal states, monthly self-inspection is legally required.
Improved Operational Safety:
Regular measurement of the oil layer helps prevent costly contamination of soil or wastewater systems. An overfilled oil separator can cause the oil trap to block the outlet, resulting in wastewater backup. This lifts the oil layer, which may overflow through the separator lid or inlets, releasing it uncontrolled into the environment — especially in areas with outdoor surfaces (e.g. during rain).
